Do you remember in the good old days, baby powder was the go-to fix for oily roots? And for those of us with darker hair, we ran the risk of having a white, ashy cast, looking like we just came off second best in a fight with a bag of flour. Then came the dry shampoo sprays, which honestly leave my dandelion fluff fine hair feeling sticky and stringy. Now we're onto the next big thing, texturising hair powders!

Hair powders seem to be the big thing this Summer; in addition to the got2b POWDER'ful powder I reviewed previously, I got to try this new hair texturising powder from Osis+. It's supposed to add matte texture and volumise at the roots.

Directions

For instant root lift and volume, sprinkle small amount adding more where needed. For more texture and control, rub the powder into your hand, and apply to desired areas. Apply to dry hair. Style and texture as preferred. Finishing tip: Turn the head up-side-down, apply like salt & pepper, distribute into the roots for a strong and wild finish. For a stronger matte look apply product into damp hair. Rake into shape and leave to dry naturally.

I applied the powder to dry hair, mostly to the roots and finger combed through to the ends. I didn't use a lot of product, but I'm happy with the result I got. The powder gives you a fluffy, matte textured volume which I think is perfect for beach days and Summer pool parties, it also works really well as a dry shampoo, soaking up any oily bits in your hair. I think it gives a bit more control and lift as opposed to the got2b POWDER'ful and lasts a bit longer. The volume still falls a bit flat after about 4/5 hours though, and you can reactivate it the same way by rubbing your roots. The matte, fluffy texture lasts the whole day though, without going stringy or clumpy.

I have been using this as my daily styling product, just a little bit for natural volume and texture. For a more dramatic look, you can use more and go crazy fluffing it up!
