My Favourite Orange Lip Looks

Orange lips are SO big right now. I think you can pretty much wear orange lipstick through Spring, Summer and Fall, so it's an extremely versatile lip colour. I've compiled some of my favourite looks that I've done with Orange lipstick, so check them out!

Orange can be worn in so many ways, subtly or as a bright pop of colour, I really love it as a change from my usual pinks and peaches. Maybelline Vivids Electric Orange is a beautiful bold statement shade, while Baby Lips Coral Crush is a nice soft wash of sheer colour, so whether you love to stand out or prefer to just dip your toe into orange, there's something for everyone. Orange also suits almost every complexion, so it's definitely one of the season's hot trends that I recommend.

Gettin' Matchy Wit' It: Pink & Grey FOTD

Following up from yesterday's nail post, I decided to a soft grey and pink makeup look to be matchy matchy with my nails.

I didn't want to get too over the top, so I kept it pretty light and simple (just like the nails :p).

Products used-

Face:

• Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream #31
• Boots No7 Natural Blush Cheek Colour in Candy Pink

Eyes:

• NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Strawberry Milk all over the lid and on the lower lashline
• Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Gunmetal blended in the inner and outer corners
• Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Skimp on the browbone, blending the grey out a little
• Urban Decay Supercurl mascara

Lips:

• Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch

My accessories for the day :) Silver and pearls.

I'm really loving pink and grey together, I wouldn't mind trying a brighter pink with it though and maybe making a pink version of a smoky eye.

4th of July NOTD & FOTD

Hey Beauties!

If you're in the US I hope you're not too hungover from yesterday's festivities! I didn't drink, but I'm not exactly a morning person... Anyway, I actually made an effort with my nails and makeup for the 4th of July so I thought I'd share it with you.... and it's an excuse to post pictures of myself.

Here's my attempt to do drag art. Errrr let's just say it's a good thing I only did one nail.

Yeah I need more practice. I put glitter over it in the hopes of concealing it's flaws.


I stuck with the classic red, white and blue because I am predictable lol. I'm not exactly patriotic, being that I'm Australian..... But our flag colours are red, white and blue anyway so W/E  

For my makeup, I didn't want too harsh of a red lip so I did my good old blotting trick with Eyeko Lip Lover to soften it up and added Maybelline Baby Lips Cherry Me to make it a little juicier. I wore Benefit Hello Flawless foundation in Toasted Beige and it didn't quite cover my dark circles.. I'm too used to wearing my Missha BB cream and not having to use concealer! I put a neutral shadow all over my lid and up to the browbone, then used Urban Decay eyeshadow in Painkiller and liquid liner in Perversion to line my upper eyelid. I used a white liner to line my waterline and Urban Decay Super Curl Curling mascara on my top and bottom lashes. I put a couple of individual lashes that I got from Daiso on the outer corners of my eyes and wore my Puffy 3 Tone Grey circle lens.

These are the shoes I wore, super cute denim wedges from Payless of all places. I was in there looking for kids' shoes and saw them on sale for $9! Super bargain and they're really comfortable.

If you do the 4th of July thing, how did you celebrate? We ended up having a BBQ with my husband's family..... it was... er yeah, well anyway next year I am definitely making plans with our friends, lol. Drama is not on my 4th of July menu. Maybelline Baby Lips: Cherry Me, Pink Punch & Peach Kiss

Beauties. I am soooo in love with these lip balms.

I adore sheer, juicy looking colour on lips, especially for spring/summer. It definitely seems to be the trend right now, like the Revlon Lip Butters I previously reviewed.

From the Maybelline website:

These, unlike the lip butters, are definitely a coloured balm. They have the texture of a balm and hydrate and smooth lips beautifully. I had dry, chapped lips, but after using Baby Lips all the flakes were gone and my lips felt soft and smooth.

There are 6 different shades and I picked up 3;

A short hiatus & my recent haul - the quest for Maybelline Baby Lips

Hey Beauties!

I have been taking a slight hiatus from the blog while we pack up and move. I am extremely excited, as we have just bought our first home! We are moving in this Sunday :) Once we are a moved in I will have more space to set up my lightbox and other photography equipment, and also a better video set up so I will be doing more videos.

I also wanted to share with you the epic journey I made for Baby Lips and the various items picked up along the way.

I was actually looking for just the Maybelline Baby Lips, but because they were so darn hard to find I ended up buying a bunch of other products as well! My first stop was Target and they were absolutely cleaned out of Baby Lips. Not ONE left! Walgreens only had Peppermint and Grape Vine, two colours I WASN'T looking for..... so it was good old Walmart to the rescue! I am kind of glad nobody ever shops at Walmart, they had almost a full display, lots of Pink Punch and Cherry Me and even a couple of the elusive Peach Kiss. PLUS they were $2.97 which is the cheapest I've seen them so far.

I haven't been buying a lot of beauty products lately, so I may have gone a little overboard today.
