Beauties. I am soooo in love with these lip balms.
I adore sheer, juicy looking colour on lips, especially for spring/summer. It definitely seems to be the trend right now, like the Revlon Lip Butters I previously reviewed.
From the Maybelline website:
• Visibly renewed lips and 8-hr hydrationThese, unlike the lip butters, are definitely a coloured balm. They have the texture of a balm and hydrate and smooth lips beautifully. I had dry, chapped lips, but after using Baby Lips all the flakes were gone and my lips felt soft and smooth.
• The secret: Exclusive lip renew formula with SPF 20
• Protects and moisturizes lips for a full 8 hours
• After 4 weeks, lips are visibly renewed and reborn
• 6 varieties
There are 6 different shades and I picked up 3;
L-R: Cherry Me, Pink Punch and Peach Kiss.
'Scuse my somewhat bare face, it was a lazy makeup day for me. Meaning, mascara and lip balm.
Cherry Me is a soft, juicy red which gives me just a hint of colour if applied lightly, but can be built up to look a little more opaque – like a glossy stain. I love this.
Pink Punch is quite a bright pink, which surprised me since it is a lip balm. It’s such a lovely shade, that I think will suit a wide variety of skintones. I don’t usually look good in baby pinks, but this one is just sheer enough to let my lips’ own pigmentation change the shade to suit me. It’s slightly more opaque on me than the other two, so I have to make sure I have even coverage.
Peach Kiss is a perfect nude on me – that elusive My Lips But Better shade that I am always searching for in a lip balm. It’s slightly shimmery, but not frosty. I pretty much reach for this on a daily basis.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
I kind of want to buy backups of these three and maybe try the purple one as well!
Do you own any of the Baby Lips lip balms? Are you a balm, gloss or lipstick kind of girl?
If you love those you have to try the Clinque Chubby sticks. They're so similiar.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! I'll have to check them out :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I liked these, they actually dried my lips out. I love the Revlon butters, I am "eh" about the L'Oreal balm, and I just picked up the new NYX balms. Are you sensing a pattern here? LOL.
ReplyDeleteI have peach kiss, but it doesn't show up much on my lips. Not that it matters, because they do such a good job with keeping my lips from getting dry.
ReplyDeleteHow strange, it's interesting how a product can work so differently on different people. These are super moisturising for me. Do you have sensitive skin? It could be something in the ingredients that you're reacting to. I am loving the balm trend too! I'll have to check out the NYX balms next :)
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't show that much on my lips either, but I love the way it looks as a nice, shimmery nude :)
ReplyDeleteLol, I just bought those yesterday! There is a mini review on my blog ;)
