Mini Haul.

Check it out, Beauty Mamas!
Some random stuff I bought. Can't wait to try the Milani nail art polishes and eye pencils!

All of this stuff was either on clearance or I got it at Dollar Tree :) I love having lots of new beauty stuff but not spending much!

I have been looking for some of those bra strap things for ages and found them at Dollar Tree. 4 of them for a dollar, I am definitely not complaining. Hopefully they aren't really bad quality and snap the first time I use them! We'll see :)

I am expanding my brush collection and found that the e.l.f. brushes are decent quality for a very cheap price. I would love to buy really high quality expensive brushes, but I know my kids will probably get into them and wreck them! Maybe when they are a little older I can splurge on some nice brushes ;)

I got the Nicole by O.P.I polish on sale for around $1 at Target. I guess people think orange is just for Halloween. It's a really nice shimmery orange though so I think it'll look nice with turquoise on toes as a spring/summer pedicure.

I will review most of this stuff soon, I love bargains but lets see if the quality is worth it!

AVON Smooth Minerals Powder in Shell

So my AVON order came after about a week.. I was expecting it to come sooner, but I guess it wasn't too bad. Next time I may try personal delivery and see if that works better for me.

The packaging is pretty standard looking, plain black lid with a clear compartment for the powder. It is a little small, but not too bad for $8.99.

Avon free shipping code.

I recently wanted to buy some mineral makeup and saw that Avon was having a sale on theirs. I briefly considered Bare Minerals, but at around $21 (average) for one powder it is a little pricey for me to justify buying. Avon is currently selling their Smooth Minerals Powder Foundation at $8.99 so I thought I'd give it a try. I also picked up the Beyond Color Plumping Lip Color for $4.99 :)

They have a system where you can shop from a representative's online store and opt for either free personal delivery or pay $3 for direct shipping. I decided to go with direct shipping and found a code for free shipping when you make your first purchase with any representative: FIRSTREP.

I should be receiving my order sometime next  week (they quote 4-7 days) so when I do I will review both products.

I hope this code is useful for you!

Note: I am not affiliated with Avon in any way.

Fast Drying Top Coats - reward vs risk?

Hey Beauties!

I've recently started getting into nail polish and nail art. I've always loved to get a manicure; gel, acrylic or natural (depending on the condition of my nails!) and from time to time have gotten a little flower painted on, but I never really do it myself. There are two reasons for this; 1. I have no time and 2. I never seem to be able to get it looking nice.

Does this sound familiar? - You just finish your nails and are waiting for them to dry when your kids come running in, climbing all over you and asking you to do something for them which invariably destroys all your careful hard work. Or, you wait until they're in bed and do your nails at night.. but because you're so tired, you fall asleep waiting for it to dry and end up with sheet marks all over your manicure.

That happens to me ALL the time. I tried a few '60 second' nail polishes, namely Rimmel, with little results. They would dry to the touch in about 5 minutes or so, but they wouldn't be completely dry for an hour and didn't go on very smoothly. Then I started doing a bit of research into fast drying top coats.

InStyler by Tre Milano

Hey Beauty Mamas!

I have naturally curly hair, so most people assume that it's thick. It's not. My hair is very fine and as a result, I have always had difficulty finding a good straightening method. Blowdryers seem to create more frizz than shine, and flat irons end up making my hair just that. Flat. Not to mention the burnt hair smell, limp dry looking locks and inevitable fly aways and breakage. Even my US$225 GHD did a barely satisfactory job. As a mother, I also want something that's going to be quick and easy since I don't have much time to spend on beauty routines.

Recently I saw this ad on tv for the InStyler:

Dr Wheatgrass Skin Recovery Cream

Check it out, Beauties!

This product is pretty darn amazing.

Here is what it claims on the website:

"What is the Dr Wheatgrass secret for healthier skin?
This cream has substantial benefits compared with other skin care products because it contains high levels of the Grass Juice Factor. This Factor contains powerful molecules essential for cell growth, tissue renewal and enhancement of the natural recovery process."
Have a more in depth look at the product here :)

My mother ordered the cream for me as she is always interested in natural healing products, especially when it comes to her grandkids. I was a little skeptical, but I have to say this product actually does some of what it claims to do.
