Wet n Wild Megaslicks Balm Stain in A Stiff Pink

I Bought This

I was in Walgreens the other day and realised I had to face an ever more evident truth. Honestly, I have a growing addiction to the various balm stains out there, and it seems that almost every brand has their own version. I was kind of ridiculously excited to see Wet n Wild come out with a balm stain, mostly because they make awesome lip products and sell them for an insanely affordable price. The Wet n Wild Megaslicks Balm Stains are no different, garnering lots of rave reviews at just $2.99 a pop.

From the Walgreens website:

Wet n Wild MegaSlicks Balm Stain Moisturizing Lip Color
Size/Count  0.1 oz.
  • Glides on smoothly
  • Enriched with acai palm oil
  • Prevents feathering
Now you can amp up your lips with one stick for a kissable pout in no time. To keep your pucker-perfect, these all new lip balm stains glide on smoothly while conditioning the lips. Enriched with Acai Palm Oil, this amazing formula forms a protective shield on the lips to prevent feathering. Complete with six great shades and continuous moisture, the formula leaves the lips with a unique minty, cooling sensation. No matter how long the kiss, this balm will last and last.

There are 6 different shades, but the one that stood out to me the most was A Stiff Pink. Goodness knows I don't have enough pink lip products.... =_=;;

Oh the creamy lushness of this beautiful pink. It literally glides on and leaves lips feeling moisturised and smooth, while depositing rich, pigmented colour which really stains. And when I say stains, I mean STAINS. I dabbed my lips with my index finger and my finger tip was pink for hours, even though I washed the product off right away. This balm stain feels a little more hydrating than the Jordana Twist and Shine Balm Stains and goes on a little more smoothly. I like both brands' offerings though! I'm just happy there is so much variety at a more affordable price point.

I really love this shade on my skin tone, although it is a cool toned pink it is bright and punchy enough so that it doesn't wash me out at all. The Balm Stain wore for about 3 hours before I wiped it off... well, I say wiped it off but it left a bright pink stain that wasn't easily removed. Awesome if you're looking for a true stain that will last all day! I'm not sure how the softer shades would be, but because this one is so pigmented it left a long-lasting, even stain.

I'm very happy with my purchase and will definitely be snapping up a few more of these. My Balm Stain obsession is going to be fed like crazy! Best of all, it won't hurt the pocketbook too much :)

Update: after removing my makeup and sleeping, I still have a pink stain on my lips and arm where I swatched!

Wet n Wild Wild Shine Eggplant Frost Nail Polish

I Bought This

A girl can never have too much nail polish (well, this girl in particular) and Wet n Wild have some very beautiful shades. One such beauty is the absolutely stunning Eggplant Frost from the Wild Shine collection that I picked up at CVS for a mere .99c. Wet n Wild's formula can be a bit hit and miss and this one was a little gloopy, but a couple of drops of nail polish thinner fixed it right up.

This is 3 thinnish coats of Wet n Wild Eggplant Frost with 1 coat of Duri Miracote top coat.

This polish is so subtly gorgeous and completely different to any of the other purples I have in my stash. It flashes from a red-toned purple to a deep sapphire blue, with tiny silver flecks. It goes on a little patchily at first and looks more purple when it's sheerer, but builds up to a deeper, more prominent blue. The purple to deep blue/silver shift is much more noticeable in direct sunlight or bright lighting. I am thinking this polish will be beautiful for layering with glitter or as a base for galaxy nails.

I'm definitely a fan and this polish has found a nice new home in my collection.
