Help me choose! Super Cute Galaxy S2 Phone Cases

Who doesn't love a a cute phone case??

Ok, maybe I'm biased.. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would cringe at the sickeningly adorable cases that I am obsessed with.

I recently bought a Galaxy S2 and found all these really cute cases on Ebay! I wanted a silicone case since they seem to protect better than the hard cases. Help me choose one!

Photo Diary: OC Japan fair 2012

Konnichiwa!

Yesterday we went to the OC Japan fair at the Block of Orange in Southern California. I've been to the fair before, but this is the first time it's been at the Block of Orange. Honestly, I didn't really like the layout of the booths. The mall is pretty huge and the booths were in little clusters of four or five, all spread out through the shops. There was one stage area that had performances and a couple of food areas. I preferred the previous years, where the fair booths were all in one location and it was easier to navigate.

On the way to the fair! My lil monkey in the back :)

Our friends Chris and Kim in their Yukatas. People were asking to take photos of them (and with them lol).

We ate a LOT of food, Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki, Yakisoba and crepes. Unfortunately we were so eager to eat, I didn't get any photos of the food :( It was a fun day, but the fair didn't have as many booths as I thought it would. The layout was a bummer too, hopefully next year they'll rethink the venue.

Hope you guys had a great weekend! :)

e.l.f. Glossy Gloss - Berry Blush, Tangy Tangerine and Dragonfruit.

Recently e.l.f. had a 50% sale on Studio products, so I thought I'd try out these glosses. I have so many lip products, but mostly wear tinted balms or glosses, so I wanted to get a few new colours. These three are great shades that I think will transition nicely from Summer to Fall/Autumn.

Berry Blush is a soft mauve pink, Tangy Tangerine is a muted orange and Dragonfruit is a brighter, coral pink. They look quite opaque, but the colour didn't translate quite as well on my pigmented lips.

Berry Blush

Tangy Tangerine

Dragonfruit

As you can see, Tangy Tangerine was the least opaque on my lips, while Dragonfruit was the most opaque. Berry Blush is a nice, MLBB glossy shade which looks lovely as a neutral pink. Tangy Tangerine would be great as a gloss over more opaque orange lipsticks or stains, which might need a little extra moisturisation or shine.

The texture is quite thick and sticky, which means they last a reasonable amount of time. I reapplied after about 3/4 hours, which isn't too bad for a gloss. They hydrate nicely and don't leave any greasy feeling residue on the lips. They are also great for dry lips, as they glide over any dry or flaky patches you might have, and don't emphasise fine lines. At 50% off, I got these for $1.50 each at the e.l.f. website. For the price, they are definitely a steal!

I have a bunch of other stuff from my e.l.f. Studio haul, so look out for more reviews to come :)
Have you tried any e.l.f. Glossy Glosses? I also want to try their Hypershine gloss range.

Dip Dyed Ends: Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink

So being the type of person that gets bored easily, I thought when I redid my roots I might as well just go ahead dye the ends of my hair pink too.

Enter Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink. A semi-permanent apparently glow in the dark(?) hair dye that I've seen a few other bloggers use recently. I got both the dye and the brush from Sally's Beauty Supply, the dye cost around $10.

I just did the ends of my hair and left it in for about 90 mins. It washed out easily and I didn't have any staining problems.

Now, I didn't prelighten my hair as I thought it would be light enough (I bleached it recently after all), but perhaps I should have. It didn't turn out quite as pink as I'd have liked and has a bit of an orangey tint to it. It also seems to have faded rather quickly.. pretty much gone after 2 weeks. I'm thinking maybe I got the semi-permanent when there is a permanent dye I should have gotten? Can anyone enlighten me if there are two types of Manic Panic dye?

Here's my FOTD! Using products from Daiso (video on that coming soon).

I think I may have to go to a hairdresser to get that true, cotton candy baby pink.

Have you tried Manic Panic dye? Or maybe you have a recommendation for me for next time?

Barielle Blossom & Nail Art (Leopard & Dots & Gradients, Oh My!)

I posted this a while ago, but Blogger decided to eat my post! It's completely disappeared, so I decided to repost it... Hope you don't mind!

I am a big fan of the members only shopping website, Hautelook. I only rarely buy things from there, but when I do I always manage to pick up some lovely beauty products from brands I don't usually buy, being that they're a little more expensive (I'm cheap, I'm cheap, we all know this already!).

This time around, I got a beautiful shade of Barielle nail polish: Blossom at $4 (half price!). It's a perfect glowy peach that glides over the nail and is perfect in two coats.

This is two coats of Barielle Blossom, with two coats of Pure Ice Dreamy over it on the ring finger as an accent nail.

I love the colour, it's summery and makes me think of juicy peach flavoured gummies.

After rocking that mani for a few days, I was dying to try some nail art. I wanted to experiment with a few different styles I'd seen, so the result was a bit of a hodge podge. I'm still learning!

I used 2 coats of Barielle Blossom on the index, middle and pinky fingers and 3 coats of Wet n Wild The Gold & The Beautiful on the ring finger. For the index finger, I then attempted a gradient with Wet n Wild The Gold & The Beautiful and finished off with a coat of Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Glass Slipper. For the middle finger I dotted on The Gold & The Beautiful and Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris to create a leopard print. On the pinky, I dotted on Ebony Hates Chris to make a frame. I'm really into framing nail art at the moment, it looks really cool and edgy.

I'm going to keep experimenting with nail art and hopefully get better with practice. I really want to get better with gradients, I've seen some really stunning ones!

Do you like trying new things with your manicure, or do you prefer to stick with a traditional one colour/french?

Angelic Pretty Wishlist: super kawaii accessories

Hey hey!

Recently I saw a Japanese blogger's picture on TokyoFashion.com and she had an absolutely gorgeous laser cut acrylic bow necklace from Angelic Pretty.

Source: Tokyo Fashion

Source: Tokyo Fashion

I LOVE the style, laser cut acrylic jewellery is soooo big right now especially in Asia.

I went and checked out the AngelicPretty-usa.com website (they are based in San Francisco here) and found some really adorable stuff. I found the necklace she's wearing, but they only have it in Black or Yellow, no Pink! :(

Check out my faves and click the picture to see the product page and more pics:

Glitter Ribbon Necklace - Yellow $51.00

Fantastic Ribbon Necklace - White $51.00

Symphonia Key Necklace - Gold $61.00

Crown Chocolate Necklace - Antique Gold $63.00

Dreamy Horoscope Unicorn Ring - Sax $27.00

Tiara Chocolate Ring - Mocha $28.00 (it looks like a Rolo! <3)

Crown Chocolate Ring - Ivory $34.00

Royal Chocolate Boston Bag - Pink $159.00

Lady Heart Quilted Boston Bag - White $132.00

Double Ribbon Party Bag - Pink $106.00

Royal Chocolate Baretta - Ivory $42.00

The products are somewhat expensive, so I doubt I'll be able to afford much any time soon (maybe a couple of rings!), but the quality and craftsmanship is excellent and all the items are so unique. I am especially loving that Tiara Chocolate ring, but I might be tempted to eat it while wearing it! :p

Angelic Pretty also has a lot of really gorgeous clothing and shoes (and even socks!), but most of them are a little over the top for me to wear on a day to day basis. What I love about these accessories is the ability to mix them up and wear them with more casual clothing :)

Let me know if you see anything on the site you love, or if you've seen anything similar elsewhere!
