Gyaru on a Budget: Dolly Wink Long Mascara

Beauties..

This is the mascara I've been searching for.

This little pretty is Dolly Wink Long Mascara, and it is my current HG, love of my life etc etc. It's a Japanese brand, so it's not readily available in the US, although I've seen it at Japanese stores like Mitsuwa and Marukai. I purchased mine from Sasa.com

The brush is a mid size, not too large but not too small. It has short, thin bristles that comb through the eyelashes and catch each one without leaving clumps or sticking together.

Here you can see the little fibres <3 super love the formula!

First thing I thought when I used this mascara was "where have you been all my life??".

I strongly feel that mascara should do what it claims to do, make my eyelashes look great, be sweat, tear and rain proof but come off easily when I want it to and not give panda eyes. That's not too much to ask, right?

Pretty much every mascara I have tried has been lacking in at least one of these departments, until now. This mascara from Dolly Wink fulfils every one of my requirements. I really feel that most Asian cosmetics are light years ahead of Western products when it comes to innovative formulas and basically fulfilling all my expectations.

This mascara requires a little more time and effort, since you have to use the tip of the wand first and swipe it up vertically to attach the fibres to the ends of your lashes. Then you swipe the mascara on the more traditional way, so it's twice the effort, but you get such a great result.

Take a look at my video on how to apply fiber mascara, using Dolly Wink Long Mascara.

Sorry for my awkwardness, my first time doing a voiceover lolz.

While it doesn't give me quite as much volume as I usually like (but still delivers quite a bit), this is specifically for length (hence the name Long Mascara) and does a great job of lengthening and separating lashes. I do want to try the Dolly Wink Volume mascara as well and see how it compares.

Because it's a fiber mascara, it coats the ends of your lashes in little tubes that lengthen and make them fuller. They almost feel rubberised, when I wash it off with warm water, these little rubbery black blobs come off. The huge upside: NO PANDA EYES! Bliss! No looking like the chick from The Grudge in the morning!

Here are some pics of me wearing my fave mascara. I pretty much wear it every time I put makeup on, because I love not having to clean up huge black pools under my eyes when I have a shower or use makeup remover.

I actually just ordered the Dolly Wink Volume Mascara as well, so I'll let you know how that goes and probably do a comparison as well.

Have you tried Dolly Wink products before? What's your favourite HG mascara?

Great review! It makes your lashes much longer :) I have been thinking about ordering this mascara, because I have heard and read good comments about it.

  2. I really recommend it! It's a bit pricier than drugstore mascaras, but it's worth every cent. I don't think I want to use another mascara ever again :)
