Photo Diary: Beauty For the Beasts Event in Beverly Hills hosted by @weheartthis

So I had been meaning to post this before now, but a nasty cold got me! The weekend before last, I went down to Cristophe Salon in Beverly Hills for the Beauty For the Beasts event! This was a charity event hosted by the ladies at weheartthis to benefit The Rescue Train, an animal rescue organisation.

My BFF Mai and I headed down from the OC to Beverly Hills. We decided to make a girls day out of it :)

Mai decided that a ridiculously unflattering up angle shot was in order...... Thanks Mai =_=;;

**Pic Heavy!!** See more pics after the jump :)

Cristophe Salon! Quite a few people turned out for the event. They had booths set up in the front and upstairs, some for the raffle prizes and some selling products.

The salon is huge!! They have a really plush waiting lounge as well. On the day they had half price services, but I had just had a gel manicure done (by Mai) so I couldn't get a manicure and didn't want to make Mai wait around while I got my hair done.

The ladies from weheartthis, Stef and Tyna! And some of the awesome raffle goodies. They had sooo many great prizes, and with each $25 purchase of raffle tickets, you got a gift bag worth at least $200. I'll be showing you what I got in mine at the end of the post!

I'm so awkward when someone else is taking my photo. You've heard of jazz hands, these are *awkward photo hands*....

Obligatory selfshot in front of the wall of Kerastase (one of my fave hair care brands btw).

Some cool doggie beds and toys from Jax and Bones.

This cutie was up for adoption! He (I think he was a he) perked up and posed when I pointed the camera at him, poser pup lol.

This next booth was absolutely to die for! I'm the biggest fan of cute stuff and bows, so you know I was all over Gertie & Baxter.

Those feathery ribbons down the bottom are ANKLE CUFFS. So darn cool.

Look at all those pretty things!! And check out Sheswai nail polish in the background, which I didn't seem to get any pictures of :( I had meant to pick some up but totally forgot with all the other stuff going on.

They had lots of wine, water and nibbles as well as.....

....Cupcakes!!!!

I loooove me some cupcakes. I'm eating the Root Beer Float one. The company that makes these is called Build Your Own Cupcake and will basically make any kind of cupcake flavour you can think of. BTW, I'm wearing my Geo Angel Blue lenses from Angel Contacts, which I'll be doing a review and video of soon!

After we had checked out the booths, bought raffle tickets, talked to a few people and eaten cupcakes, we headed down to a cafe called Little Next Door because Mai had heard that they had really good French Onion soup. I was like "Really? How good can onion soup be?", but let me tell you..... that soup was like cheesy, melty, oniony, salty heaven.

Drooooool. Seeing it makes me want it again.

Coffee love!

Mai @ Little Next Door cafe
And last, but certainly not least.....

Macarons! Beautiful, colourful macarons. They had some really cool flavours, but the place was so busy that we didn't really want to wait around and order some after eating our soup. I kind of regret it now ;_;

It was such a fun day and some much needed girly time, which I don't get much of being mama to 3 boys! Ohh and I haven't forgotten, here is the contents of my awesome gift bag:

Milani Baked Blush, Liquid Liner and Lip Gloss (approx. $20). I loooove Milani, but haven't tried their baked blushes yet. Here's my chance!
NYX Curve Eyeliner ($15) This seems like a cool concept, we'll see how it works.

Ardell#105 Lashes ($5). A girl can never have too many false lashes.
China Glaze I’m Not Lion nail lacquer ($7.95). I've been wanting this polish for the longest time, but could never find it in store. Now it's mine!
YBF (Your Best Face) Deluxe Sample Pack

Cristophe Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner ($17.98)
Terax Crema + Keratin Original Reparative Daily Conditioner ($24). A girl can also never have too many hair products.

IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Pencil ($24). Ooh, Active Brow Enhancing Technology. Can't say no to that.
Le Métier de Beauté Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss in Coral Confection ($32). Yes, yes, yes! So glad I got one of the gift bags with this gloss in it!
Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab perfume oil in Snake Oil ($17.50). I actually got the one called Zombie something-or-other...(can't remember exactly), but I liked the one Mai got better and she liked the Zombie one better, so we swapped.

Puppy Luv Glam long sleeve thermal hoodie ($58) - forgot to take a pic of this, so I stole the one from the weheartthis post! This is cute and comfy :)

Not only did I get to contribute towards a good cause, but I got some pretty amazing products in the gift bag. I'll be posting about most of the stuff in the coming weeks :) I'm definitely excited to try them all out, especially the Le Métier de Beauté lipgloss and NYX eyeliner.
