Review: Hello Kitty Memoirs of a Kitty Say Hello Palette

Here is the Hello Kitty palette I got from Sephora recently :)

This palette is to die for. It literally speaks to every aspect of my personality (well, certain ridiculously girly aspects anyway). It’s sweet, it’s cute, it has cherry blossoms on it, it’s shaped like a kitty head, it’s pink and white and all things delicious! I am a self confessed Hello Kitty fanatic, so I HAD to have something from the Sephora Hello Kitty collection... and this was the cutest!

The packaging is just as cute as what's inside! I love the bow sticker :) I am such a sucker for cute packaging, it just ties it all together.

From Sephora.com:

What it is:
A tiered compact with four eyeshadows and two powder blushes.

What it does:
This Hello Kitty compact contains two tiers of high-quality Hello Kitty products. The four eyeshadows include shades ranging from soft rose to warm brown, colors that harmonize beautifully with the two powder blushes. The tiered compact comes in the shape of Hello Kitty and is adorned with the Memoirs of a Kitty cherry blossom print.

The Say Hello palette includes:
- Pearlized Pinky Beige 0.07 oz eyeshadow
- Pearlized Tan 0.07 oz eyeshadow
- Pearlized Honey 0.07 oz eyeshadow
- Sparkling Brown 0.07 oz eyeshadow
- Peach 0.16 oz powder blush
- Rose 0.16 oz powder blush

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens

What else you need to know:
Sweet and effective, this Hello Kitty product contains powerful extracts of strawberry, apple, and grape seed to hydrate and soften skin. Packed with powerful antioxidants, these ingredients also fight free radicals and improve skin's elasticity and youthfulness.

The top compartment houses four eyeshadows, all neutral colours. That compartment lifts up to reveal a second compartment with two blushes, a peach and a pink. It will actually tip backwards a bit when the eyeshadow compartment is up, because it gets a little top heavy. Something to keep in mind when you're using the blush! The packaging feels sturdy and durable. I'm glad they didn't make it cheap and kiddy.

The eyeshadows are slightly shimmery and actually go on very sheer. The lightest shade is the most pigmented. The darkest colour is sheer, with some sparkles., I swatched it quite heavily to get it to be more opaque.

The blushes are such pretty colours, but they also go on very sheer :(

The peach is a little more pigmented than the pink. They are buildable, but won't really get very opaque. It'll just be a pretty wash of subtle colour. They are both very slightly shimmery, but not overly so. I love the little touch of shimmer, it glows without it being so much that you'll look like you're sweating.. not a good look.

Natural light. They are a bit washed out here.

All the powders are quite soft and blendable, but happily there was not much fallout. They go on very smoothly and would be great for a more natural makeup look. I think this palette is good for makeup beginners, or people that prefer a light touch of colour. The shades are suitable for most skintones, although I don't know how pigmented they would be on very dark skin.

I will definitely be using these in a FOTD soon and will let you know how the wear time is :)

This palette retails for $35 and is exclusive to Sephora.

Do you have any of the Hello Kitty palettes? Is this for you, or do you prefer a more dramatic makeup style?

Ishah xx
